Inside the Asphalt Drum for a Florida Based Paving Company
Ever been inside the drum of an asphalt plant? We have.
Customer Overview:
Our client, a leader in the asphalt industry, faced a unique challenge within the confines of their asphalt plant drum. With a bent Teepee baffle causing operational issues, coupled with the need for additional mixing baffles, our client sought a solution that would not only address the problem but also enhance the overall efficiency of their asphalt production.
The Challenge:
The interior of an asphalt plant drum is a specialized environment, and our client encountered a specific issue with the Teepee baffle. The bending of this crucial component was impeding the mixing process, necessitating urgent attention. Furthermore, the need for additional mixing baffles was identified to optimize the asphalt production process.
Our Approach:
As a leading conveyor solution company in Florida, we embraced the unique challenge presented by this client. Understanding the intricacies of working within an asphalt drum, our team devised a strategy that combined precision engineering with hands-on expertise.
The Solution:
Undeterred by the cool rainy day, our team embarked on the task of constructing a new steel Teepee baffle to replace the damaged one. Simultaneously, additional mixing baffles were crafted to enhance the mixing efficiency within the expansive interior of the asphalt drum.
Executing the repair and enhancement process required working inside the drum, an environment that, while surprisingly spacious, demanded intricate maneuvers. The old Teepee baffle was expertly cut away, and new metal was meticulously formed and welded in place. Thanks to exhaust fans maintaining air circulation, the interior remained surprisingly clean, allowing our team to work efficiently.
